(Arnolds Park)– Organizers of the upcoming University of Okoboji Winter Games are looking for nominations for cheerleaders.
The Winter Games Committee is encouraging the public to nominate a man or woman, or a couple, to serve as 2011 Winter Games cheerleader.
The following requirements should be met to be nominated: an individual with a ready smile, cheerful disposition and a generous heart; a person possessing a true passion for the Iowa Great Lakes; someone who is enthusiastic about what the campus has to offer and who has a deep love and concern for its history and future development; a resident who has spirit, devotion and goes above and beyond the call of duty; and someone concerned about creating a cheerful and pleasant atmosphere for both residents and guests alike to the campus.
Nominations should be sent to the Chamber, P.O. Box 9, Arnolds Park, Ia…51331. Nomination forms can be picked up at the chamber office in Arnolds Park or downloaded from www.uofowintergames.com. The forms are due Tuesday, January 4th, 2011. Voting will take place Thursday, January 6th at the end of the Winter Games organizational meeting. Those attending that meeting will be eligible to vote for their favorite nominees.
The eight cheerleaders will be honored at the Fireworks Extravaganza at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, January 29th at Preservation Plaza in Arnolds Park.
The 2011 University of Okoboji Winter Games will be held January 28th throug the 30th.
