(Everly)– A traffic stop Tuesday in the parking lot at Barb’s Corner near Everly resulted in a drug charge against a Spencer woman and an alcohol charge against a female juvenile.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy had pulled over two vehicles when he noticed a female passenger in one of the vehicles sticking something into her blouse. The deputy had the woman step out of the vehicle. Upon investigation, it was determined the woman, identified as 19-year-old Paige Sorenson of Spencer, had allegedly shoved a marijuana pipe into her bra.
Upon further investigation, it was determined there was beer in the vehicle, and a 17-year-old juvenile female was taken into custody.
Sorenson was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and was booked into the Clay county jail. She was released a short time later after posting a 300-dollar bond.
The juvenile was cited into juvenile court for underage alcohol possession and was released to the custody of her mother.
The driver of the other vehicle was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
The traffic stop was conducted shortly before 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.
