(Arnolds Park)– The Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce has once again established Christmas tree drop-off points around the area. Semi trailers where the natural trees and garland can be dropped off will be parked at the Dickinson County Fairgrounds in Spirit Lake (near the Community Building); at the Arnolds Park Amusement Park parking lot; and at the Milford maintenance building.
The trailers, donated by Polaris Industries and Klaussner Furniture, will be in place Friday (Christmas Eve).
You’re asked to place trees as far forward as possible in the trailer.
The trees will be used for “Burning of the Greens” Saturday, January 29th, 2011 in conjunction with the opening ceremony for the 31st annual University of Okoboji Winter Games. The evening will include the announcement of some event winners, including the chili cook-off; an introduction and cheer by the 2011 cheerleaders; and a fireworks extravaganza.
