(Spencer)– A Royal man faces a forgery charge and possible deportation stemming from an investigation that began back on December 9th when he was pulled over for a traffic stop.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 39-year-old Feliciano Hernandez gave the deputy a social security number and a Washington driver’s license at the time of the stop. An ongoing investigation resulted in deputies obtaining information from Immigration and Customs Enforcement that Hernandez was allegedly using someone else’s Social Security number.
Hernandez was taken into custody Tuesday at the Van Essen Egg Farm. He was booked into the Clay county jail on a charge of forgery…a class “D” felony.
Hernandez is also being held on a detainer for Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials for illegal re-entry into the U.S.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in its investigation by the Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General.
