Residential Burglary Results In Multiple Arrests

(Spencer)– An investigation into a burglary at a residence near Everly has resulted in multiple arrests.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to 3635 130th Avenue December 27th after getting a report of a burglary from that location. Upon arriving, deputies learned a storm door had been pried open and the inside door had been kicked in. Jewelry, liquor, change, and other miscellaneous items were reported missing.

Authorities say based on their investigation, they met with 18-year-old Kyle Frederick of Ruthven Tuesday, December 28th, at 109 East 2nd Street in Everly. Frederick was placed under arrest and was transported to the Clay county jail. Later that evening, deputies obtained and executed a search warrant at the same address where Frederick was located. The subsequent search turned up most of the items missing in the burglary along with a piece of drug paraphernalia.

Frederick was charged with burglary in the third degree…a class “D” felony; theft in the third degree…an aggravated misdemeanor; underage alcohol possession and possession of drug paraphernalia…both simple misdemeanors. Frederick was being held on a $5,000 cash or surety bond.

16-year-old Torey Ginger of Everly was arrested and cited into juvenile court for burglary in the third degree…a class “D” felony; theft in the third degree…an aggravated misdemeanor; underage alcohol possession and possession of drug paraphernalia…both simple misdemeanors. She was released to the custody of her mother.

A 17-year-old juvenile male from Everly was cited into juvenile court for underage alcohol possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of stolen property…all simple misdemeanors…and was released to the custody of his mother.

The 16-year-old juvenile male was cited into juvenile court for accessory after the fact…a simple misdemeanor, and was released to the custody of his mother.

The names of the latter two juveniles weren’t released as none of the charges against them were felonies.
