(Spirit Lake)– A faulty batch of garbage bags has the city of Spirit Lake making amends to its citizens.
City officials say they’ve received numerous complaints recently about new bags with drawstring tops that tear off, and that the new bags are smaller in size than the previous style.
The city says it had good intentions in making the change, but the quality of the bags just isn’t standing up.
To make it good to the citizens, the city has dropped the price for the green bags 50 percent…to $12.50 per roll of 50 bags.
City officials say the price reduction will remain in effect until the supply of faulty bags is used up. At that point they say the city will revert to the original style of bags at a cost of $25 for a roll of 50.
