(Milford)– No injuries were reported when a construction trailer caught fire this (Wed.) morning on Highway 71 south of Milford.
Milford firefighters were called to the scene around 8:15 a.m.
Upon arriving firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the trailer, owned by Retro Foam of Iowa.
The construction crew and Milford Police Chief Vernon Flack managed to put out some of the fire by using a fire extinguisher. Firefighters extended a hose to the trailer and quickly put out the rest of the fire in the front of the trailer. A thermal imaging camera was then used to make sure the fire was completely out.
Upon investigating firefighters determined the blaze was the result of hot exhaust gases from a generator that was mounted on the trailer.
Firefighters were on the scene about 45 minutes.
The Milford Fire Department was assisted by the Milford and Arnolds Park Police Departments and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
