(Milford)– A mishap Tuesday on Lower Gar Lake injured a South Dakota woman.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says Karen Drebert of Sioux Falls was operating a snowmobile on the south end of the lake when she hit a patch of rough snow that caused her to lose control and roll the machine.
Drebert was transported by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare and was airlift to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota for treatment of a leg injury.
The incident took place shortly after 2:30 p.m.
The Iowa DNR was assisted on the scene by the Milford Police Department, Arnolds Park/Okoboji Rescue, Milford Rescue and the Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and paramedics.
