(Arnolds Park)– Some big improvements are in store for a busy intersection in Arnolds Park.
City Administrator Ron Walker tells KUOO news the city council Wednesday evening approved plans and specifications for improvements to a stretch of Linden Drive between Hinshaw Bridge and Highway 71.
Plans include a right-hand turn lane onto Linden from Highway 71; storm sewer; sidewalks and street lighting.
Walker says plans call for the project to be built in phases, with the first phase consisting of storm sewer and the underground work being done by July 1st; the second phase would be slated for completion by late summer or early fall.
Walker says the Linden Drive project has been on the drawing board for several years but got pushed back several times due to other projects that took on higher priorities.
A public hearing and bidletting on the project is set for the council’s February 9th meeting.
In other business, the Arnolds Park city council approved a proposal to share police officers during the daytime hours with Okoboji. The council there approved the arrangement Tuesday.
