(Hartley)– A single-vehicle crash Monday on Highway 18 in O’Brien county injured a Hartley man.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says Jason Gillespie of Hartley was driving a 2003 Mercury eastbound on Highway 18 west of county road M22 when he lost control due to the icy road. The vehicle collided with a guard rail on the north side of the road. It then crossed back across the road and collided with another guard rail on the south side of the highway.
Gillespie was taken by the Hartley ambulance to Sanford Sheldon Hospital. There was no word on the extent or nature of his injuries.
$8,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle.
The crash took place shortly after 8:00 a.m.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Hartley Fire Department.
