(Spirit Lake)– Efforts by a local snowmobile group to raise funds for a trail groomer have received a significant donation from one of the area’s largest employers.
The Dickinson County SnowHawks announced Monday they’ve received a $2,000 donation from Polaris Industries for the equipment.
Purchasing and operating its own groomer has been a long-time goal of the organization, which in the past has relied on a leased groomer and assistance from surrounding counties. Three different groomers were borrowed from other counties last year to prepare for Winter Games.
The SnowHaws have been working on the fundraising effort for the past year now.
Club members say they’re very grateful to Polaris for the donation.
