(Spencer)– The Spencer Police Department once again this year will offer its police academy to any interested citizen in the region.
This year’s academy will run from March 8th through May 3rd. Classes will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m.
Police Chief Mark Lawson says it will cover a number of topics including but not limited to 911, Communications Center operations, constitutional law, search and seizure, laws of arrest, use of force, traffic and OWI enforcement, crime scene processing, the K-9 program, drug investigation, search warrants, adult and juvenile probation, jail field trips and ride-alongs.
Applications are available at the Spencer Police Department. The fee is $35 which includes the cost of materials.
Attendees must be atleast 18 years of age.
