(Des Moines)– The Iowa Finance Authority announced Monday it’s awarded more than $1.3 million in planning and design loans to eight communities to assist with the initial stages of developing drinking water or wastewater facilities.
Locally, Gillett Grove in Clay county was awarded $75,000 to assist with a wastewater project.
The funds can be used for engineering fees, archaeological surveys, environmental or geological studies and costs related to project plan preparation.
The Iowa Finance Authority loans are made through the State Revolving Fund program that’s been in place since 2005.
