Sibley Man Faces Charges For Allegedly Providing False Information To Authorities

November 22, 2014

(Sibley)– A Sibley man accused of giving a 911 operator false information about a fight faces several charges and possible deportation.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says 23-year-old Ruperto Gomez was arrested Saturday after making several 911 calls in which he allegedly claimed a fight had taken place.

Upon investigating, deputies arrested Gomez on charges of public intoxication and providing false information to a law enforcement officer.

Gomez was booked into the Osceola county jail and was being held on a $300 cash bond. He’s also being detained for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.
