(Spirit Lake)– No injuries were reported when smoke from a malfunctioning furnace got into a home in Spirit Lake Tuesday evening.
Fire Chief David Kollasch tells KUOO news firefighters were called to the Tom and Kathy Wonus residence at 861 29th Street around 5:30 p.m. Upon arriving Kollasch says firefighters found light smoke throughout the house, with heavier smoke in a back bedroom. Upon investigating firefighters determined the source of the smoke was the furnace. The furnace was then shut down and firefighters ventilated the home.
They were on the scene about an hour.
