(Okoboji)– The Okoboji City Council approved the hiring of a new police officer at a special meeting Tuesday evening.
The council approved the hiring of Brian Balk, who’s currently an officer with the Lake Park Police Department. Balk will begin his new job with the Okoboji Police Department February 28th.
City officials say the hiring of Balk brings the Okoboji Police force back up to a full roster.
