(Estherville)– A pursuit February 13th in Emmet county ended in the arrest of a Spencer man.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy was attmepting to stop a vehicle around 1:20 a.m. on Highway 9 west of Estherville for speeding. Authorities say the driver, 23-year-old Joshua Kunath of Spencer, refused to stop, leading the deputy on a pursuit. Authorities say Kunath then turned his lights off, and the deputy lost track of him. The vehicle was later discovered in a ditch where it traveled off a T-intersection near the Dickinson-Emmet county line. The deputy made contact with Kunath and arrested him for excessive speed, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and failure to obey a stop sign. A 1997 Dodge Kunath was driving sustained an estimated $5,000 in damage. A passenger wasn’t hurt.
A vehicle fire February 13th in Emmet county resulted in the arrest of a Spencer man. The Sheriff’s Office says a citizen reported a vehicle on fire at an intersection north of Gruver. Upon arriving a deputy found the vehicle totally engulfed. It was determined the driver, 27-year-old Griffin Clark of Spencer, lost control. The vehicle went into the ditch and caught on fire. No injuries were reported to Clark or a passenger. Clark was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated…first offense; and no driver’s license. He was booked into the Emmet county jail.
An assault of a Ringsted girl February 13th resulted in the arrest of a man. The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says based on an investigation, 20-year-old Derrick Wolfert was arrested and charged with assault with intent to commit sexual abuse; and false imprisonment. He was booked into the Emmet county jail on an $11,750 cash or surety bond.
And the execution of a search warrnat February 14th on a residence in Ringsted resulted in the arrest of a Ringsted woman. Authorities say the search turned up what’s alleged to be methamphetamine. 29-year-old Abigail Monson was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; and on two outstanding warrants for control of animals. She was booked into the Emmet county jail.
