(Spirit Lake)– The Iowa State Patrol has released details into a single-vehicle rollover last Friday on Highways 9 and 71 about 2 1/2 miles east of Spirit Lake.
Troopers say 22-year-old Laurie Phillips of Spirit Lake was eastbound when she lost control after her vehicle dropped off the south shoulder. A 2000 Chrysler Town and Country van she was driving slid across the road, went into the ditch and rolled in a field.
Phillips, who had to be freed from the wreckage by mechanical means, was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with incapacitating injuries.
$5,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle.
The crash took place around 9:30 a.m.
