Teen Accused Of Threatening Students & Bus Driver

(Emmetsburg)– A Mallard teen has been taken into custody for allegedly diplaying a knife and threatening a student at the West Bend Mallard school, along with a school bus driver.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says a 12-year-old boy was taken into custody Friday following an investigation into several incidents. Authorities say the first occurred on March 15th when a gun was displayed and threats were allegedly made by the suspect to some other children. The gun turned out to be a toy handgun.

A second incident that allegedly took place March 11th was reported Friday. In that incident, the suspect is accused of displaying a knife and making a threat to a female juvenile at the West Bend Mallard school.

The third incident allegedly took place in January when the same suspect allegedly threatened a school bus driver.
The boy was taken to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office and was then taken to the juvenile detention facility in Eldora where he’s being held on two counts of harassment in the first degree…an aggravated misdemeanor.
