The City of Spirit Lake is announcing the details for city-wide spring clean up days, as well as for collection of yard waste.
Curbside collection of green yard waste will begin this Friday, April 1, and will continue each Friday through the summer and fall. Leaves and grass must be in 30-gallon brown Kraft paper bags, which are available for purchase at area retailers. Branches must be cut down to 4-foot long segments or shorter and cannot be more than 12 inches in diameter. The branches must also be bundled together for pick-up.
The city then set May 2-6 for its Residential Spring Clean Up Days. Residents can put large, bulky items out with their normal trash that week for pickup. Tags are required for white goods, electronic items, tires, box springs, and mattresses. Sofas and chairs are free on clean up days.
