Correction On Sentencing In Osceola County Snowmobile Theft Case

November 22, 2014

(Sibley)– We have a correction to make regarding a story on the sentencing of a Minnesota man in a snowmobile theft case out of Osceola county.

Contrary to what was reported previously, a five year jail sentence for 49-year-old Marlin Jensen of Rushmore, Minnesota was suspended by a judge, meaning he will not be serving jail time. He instead was placed on probation for two years.

According to his lawyer, Jensen pleaded guilty in the case back in September of last year. Sentencing was held this past Friday.

The charge stems from an incident back on January 7th of 2010 when Jensen was confronted by an Osceola county deputy who allegedly saw Jensen operating a snowmobile in the Super 8 Motel parking lot in Sibley on January 7th, 2010. A check showed the snowmobile and a trailer it was in had been stolen.
