(Rock Rapids)– A single-vehicle crash Thursday in Lyon county injured an Ocheyedan man.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says 31-year-old Benjamin Perry of Ocheyedan was northbound on Harding Avenue about a mile and-a-half north of Rock Rapids when he lost control of a 1999 GMC Suburban. The vehicle left the road and rolled several times before coming to rest on its roof.
Perry was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids and was later air-lifted to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls where he was listed in serious condition.
$12,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle.
The crash took place around 5:20 p.m.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Rock Rapids Fire Department and the Lyon County Ambulance.
