(Estherville)– Estherville police attribute the vigilance of two people in the arrests of two suspects wanted in connection with reports of burglaries to garages and cars at numerous locations throughout the city last Thursday through Sunday.
Fishing poles, car stereos, small electronic devices and small amounts of money were reported stolen.
As part of their investigation, Estherville police spoke with two witnesses who not only observed a suspect in their vehicles Saturday, but were able to capture and identify the suspect. The witnesses later reported to police the name of the suspect and provided a photo of the suspect.
Investigators were able to locate the suspect at his residence in Estherville. A subsequent investigation resulted in officers locating a large quantity of the stolen items.
21-year-old Andrew Brackins of Waterford, Michigan was arrested and booked into the Emmet county jail on 14 counts of burglary in the third degree.
19-year-old Amber Zortman of Estherville was also arrested. She was booked into jail on six counts of burglary in the third degree.
Both are being held on $16,250 cash or surety bond.
