Traffic Stop Lands Arnolds Park Man In Jail On Drug Charges

(Spirit Lake)– A traffic stop Thursday in Spirit Lake sent an Arnolds Park man to jail on drug and traffic-related charges.

Spirit Lake police say an officer pulled over a 2011 Chevrolet Impala driven by 29-year-old James Long of Arnolds Park. Upon investigating officers learned Long was wanted on an outstanding Dickinson county warrant and for driving with a barred and suspended license.

The investigation also resulted in officers finding 240 grams of what’s alleged to be Psilocybin mushrooms, 130 grams of what’s believed to marijuana, a digital scale and drug paraphernalia.

Spirit Lake police also seized over a thousand dollars in cash Long had in his possession.

Long was arrested and booked into the Dickinson county jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of failure to affix a drug tax stamp, prohibited acts, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, driving while barred and driving while suspended.
