(Spirit Lake)– A local garden center is receiving some special recognition.
Ferguson’s Garden Center in Spirit Lake has been named one of the horticulture industry’s top independent garden center as it’s been named one of “Today’s Garden Center’s Revolutionary 100”.
The program, now in its sixth year, surveys garden center owners and managers and comes up with a listing of the 100 most revolutionary garden centers in the nation. The program is open to all independent garden centers and is based on leadership and innovation, rather than on size or revenue.
Garden center owners and managers across the U.S. fill out an extensive online questionnaire covering topics such as employee training, industry involvement, profitability, marketing, use of technology, purchasing and customer and community service. The entrants are ranked according to a point system. The top 100 entries make the list.
