(Minneapolis)– Polaris Industries announced Wednesday it’s acquired Indian Motorcycle. Terms of the transaction weren’t revealed.
Officials say the acquisition will allow Polaris to add a legendary brand to its stable of Victory cruiser and touring bikes.
In a conference call, Polaris CEO Scott Wine said incorporating Indian Motorcycle with its Victory motorcycles will be beneficial to both brands of bikes.
Wine went on to say the acquisition of Indian motorcycle will result in a huge growth in Polaris’ marketing opportunities.
Polaris had annual sales in 2010 of $1.991 billion. It’s known for its ATV’s, off road vehicles, and the Polaris Ranger Six X Side vehicles, snowmobiles and Victory motorcycles and has recently introduced a new on-road electric powered neighborhood vehicle.
Indian Motorcycle was founded in 1901 and was known for producing some of the industry’s most iconic models and becoming one of the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturers.
