SMU To Hold Energy And Resource Fair

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– Customers of Spencer Municipal Utilities are urged to attend a special event this coming Friday and Saturday.

Sales and Marketing Coordinator Amanda Gloyd says they’ll be holding a Community Energy and Resource Fair this Friday, April 29th, from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 30th, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Clay County Regional Events Center in Spencer.

Gloyd says the event will offer customers information on how to save water and energy as well as saving money.

She says a number of informational seminars are planned for the event, along with information from local vendors on implementing improvements within the home.

Some of the topics include climate change and what it will mean for Iowa; ductless heatpumps; energy efficiency for new home construction; how to make energy efficiency improvements to existing homes and renewable energy options for your home or small business.

The event will be held free of charge and is open to all SMU customers.
