(Ocheyedan)– A single-vehicle crash this (Wednesday) morning in Osceola county claimed the life of a Spirit Lake man.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says 74-year-old Robert Graves of Spirit Lake was westbound on Highway 9 between Starling and Taft Avenues near Ocheyedan when he lost control of a 2011 Toyota Prius. The vehicle left the road and went into the south ditch where it became partially submerged in a creek.
Graves was taken to the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley where he was pronounced dead.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Ocheyedan and Sibley ambulances and the Ocheyedan Fire Department.
Authorities say the crash remains under investigation.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the crash shortly after 10:00 a.m. this (Wednesday) morning.
