(Everly)– Two Everly teens face charges in connection with some graffiti painted on a vehicle and grain bin at the Green Plains Elevator in Everly.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says it received a complaint from the elevator regarding the graffiti back on June 2nd. It’s believed the incidents took place during the evening of June 1st. Damage was said to be in excess of $500.
As part of their investigation into the incident, Clay county deputies assisted adult probation in conducting a probation search of a residence at 109 East 2nd Street in Everly on Monday. Upon arriving at that location, a male subject was seen running from the residence. A foot pursuit ensued and deputies took the subject into custody a short time later.
During the search authorities discovered evidence regarding the graffiti.
A 16-year-old male juvenile from Everly was arrested on charges of criminal gang participation…a class “D” felony; and criminal mischief in the third degree…an aggravated misdemeanor.
Another 16-year-old male, also from Everly, was charged with criminal mischief in the third degree…an aggravated misdemeanor, and interference with official acts…a simple misdemeanor.
Both boys were referred to juvenile court and were released to their parents.
