(Spirit Lake)– If you’re looking for a way to put all the rain we’ve been getting lately to good use, the Dickinson County Soil and Water Conservation District Foundation has an idea.
The organization is selling 50-gallon rain barrels that can be used to collect and store rain water from roof tops which can be used later for watering lawns and gardens.
The barrels are $50 each and can be ordered through the foundation. They come with a brass overflow with a hose fitting and an installed brass faucet with a hose connection. A flexible downspout may also be ordered at an additional cost of $15.
The barrels can be ordered by contacting the Dickinson County Soil and Water Conservation District office in Spirit Lake at 336-3782 Extension 3, or by stopping by the office located on the northwest side of the junction of Highways nine and 71 just north of the Pronto Convenience Store.
