(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision Saturday at the intersection of West 16th Street and First Avenue West in Spencer injured a Spirit Lake woman.
Spencer police say 57-year-old Robert Herman of Pocahontas was westbound on West 16th Street and when he pulled into the intersection with 1st Avenue West and collided with a vehicle driven by 62-year-old Lorraine Vicker of Spirit Lake who was southbound on 1st Avenue West. The impact caused the vehicle driven by Vicker to slide over the curb, coming to rest on the southwest corner of the intersection. The vehicle driven by Herman came to rest in the intersection.
Vicker and a passenger in the vehicle driven by Herman, 55-year-old Rose Herman of Pocahontas, were both taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital.
Robert Herman was cited for failure to yield.
$4,500 in damage was estimated to a 2002 Toyota driven by Herman; damage to a 2008 Honda van Vicker was driving was estimated at $4,000.
The collision took place shortly after noon.
