(Milford)– No word yet from the State Fire Marshall regarding the cause of a fire early last Friday that heavily damaged the Rodeway Inn in Milford.
Milford Fire Chief Jim Carpenter has stated the cause was likely not of a suspicious origin, but the State Fire Marshall has been called in to make an official determination.
Firefighters rescued three people from an upper level unit of the motel in Friday’s blaze. They were taken to the hospital where they were treated for smoke inhalation and released. One EMT was treated for a minor head injury sustained on the scene.
Firefighters from the Milford, Spirit Lake and Arnolds Park Okoboji Fire Departments battled the blaze for several hours early Friday.
