Businesses, Entrepreneur Receive Special Recognition

(Spencer)– Special recognition was given to two area businesses and one local entrepreneur at the second annual Business Recognition Luncheon held Wednesday by the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation.

The Small Business Excellence Award was presented to AERO Race Wheels of Estherville. The company occupies a 30,000 square foot manufacturing and warehouse facility, employing 20 people that produce up to 500 steel race wheels per day.

The Large Business Excellence Award was presented to Nolin Milling of Dickens, a steel fabricator specializing in dry bulk material handling equipment. The company’s facilities are located on 17 acres with more than 100,00 square feet of manufacturing facilities.

The Entrepreneur of The Year Award was presented to Kristy Henning of Estherville who developed an environmentally friendly reusable bag to transport fruits and vegetables home from the market. Henning founded Ecosense in Estherville and teamed up with East Coast company known for its innovation of unique fabrics in developing the bag.
