(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake businessman is getting some special recognition from a state south of us.
Matrix Medical, founded by Ivan Brown of Spirit Lake, has been nominated in the Innovation in Business Category at the 2011 Missouri Entrepreneur Celebration.
15 Missouri businesses were recognized for innovation in the arts, business and technology. Matrix Medical was one of five finalists.
Matrix Medical was launched by Ivan Brown in 2005 and has grown from $100,000 in sales that year to $3 million in 2011.
Matrix Medical operates as a strategic distribution partner with Spirit Lake-based Brown Medical Industries, selling directly to hospitals and clinics and to food, drug and mass merchandisers nationwide.
