Wahpeton Traffic Stop Results In Two Arrests

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– A traffic stop earlier this week in Wahpeton resulted in the arrests of two people on various charges.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Sarah Farrell of Spirit Lake after she allegedly failed to stop for a stop sign. Upon investigating, it was determined Farrell was in violation of a protection order with a passenger that was in the vehicle. The passenger, 33-year-Joshua Carlson of Spirit Lake was arrested for aiding and abetting the violation of a protection order and interference with official acts for giving deputies a false name.

A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up what’s alleged to be marijuana.

In addition to violation of a protective order, Farrell was also charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana; and failure to obey a stop sign.

Deputies were assisted on the scene by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit.
