Jackson County Collision Results In Minor Injuries

(Heron Lake, Mn.)– A two-vehicle collision yesterday (Thurs.) on Highway 60 at Heron Lake in Jackson county sent one person to the hospital.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 22-year-old Mathew Oldenburg of Sioux Falls was driving a 1978 Ford pickup pulling a flatbed trailer westbound on Highway 60 and was attempting to turn southbound onto Jackson County Road 9. Deputies say an eastbound 2007 PT Cruiser driven by 43-year-old Willie Helpingstine of Hartford, South Dakota collided with the trailer.

Helpingstine was transported to Sanford Hospital in Worthington where he was treated and released. No injuries were reported to Oldenburg.

Minor damage was reported to the pickup driven by Oldenburg; the PT Cruiser Helpingstine was driving was totaled.
The collision took place shortly before 5:00 p.m.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
