Long Time E’Ville Mayor Upset By Write-In Candidate

(Estherville)– There was a major upset in Tuesday’s municipal elections in Estherville, where long-time incumbent Mayor Lyle Hevern was defeated by a write-in candidate.

Unofficial results from the Emmet County Auditor’s Office show Kenny Billings receiving 482 votes, while Hevern had 225.

There were no contested races for city council in Estherville.

In Ringsted, Jodie Bridges-White, William Hansen and Wayne Kruse were elected to three open seats on the city council. Six people were running.

In Wallingford, Jarrod Fischer, Ronald Sabby and Jeremy Bodle were elected to three open seats on the city council. Six people were running.
