(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county farm owners and operators who are eligible voters are being urged to cast ballots in the 2012 county FSA Committee Elections which are currently underway. Ballots have been mailed and must be returned by mail or delivered to the Dickinson County Farm Service Agency office by December 5th.
Dickinson county voters in FSA Local Administrative Area #1 will be voting to elect a representative from that area, which includes Westport, Okoboji, Milford and Lloyd townships. Linda Hemphill is running unopposed. She served as 2011 Chairperson of the Dickinson County FSA Committee and is a land/farm owner in the Milford area.
County committees are responsible for making decisions on issues such as commodity loans and payments, conservation programs, disaster assistance programs and emergency programs.
