Clay County Traffic Stop Results In Drug Arrest

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– An early morning traffic stop landed a Spencer man in jail on drug and alcohol charges.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle in the 4300 mile of Highway 71 for a traffic violation shortly before 2:30 a.m.

Upon approaching the vehicle the deputy noticed an odor of marijuana. Upon investigating it was determined a passenger in the rear of the vehicle, 23-year-old Jason Evans of Spencer, was in possession of what’s alleged to be marijuana. Evans was arrested and booked into the Clay county jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…a serious misdemeanor; and open container…a simple misdemeanor.
