(Estherville)– An Emmet county man was injured earlier this week in an accidental shooting.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called shortly after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday to 4470 130th Street after a caller from that location reported a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Upon arriving, deputies found 41-year-old Curtis Harvego with a gunshot wound to his left thigh.
Upon investigating, it was determined Harvego had been cleaning a .45 caliber pistol when it accidentally went off.
Harvego was transported to Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville and was later transferred to a Sioux Falls hospital for further treatment.
