Two Fort Dodge Men Faces Charges In E’Ville Drug Trafficking Investigation

November 22, 2014

(Estherville)– Estherville police and the Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force say they’ve made additional arrests in recent days in an investigation into illegal drug trafficking in Estherville.

Authorities say it stems from officers observing an illegal drug transaction Thursday in a vehicle within the city limits of Estherville. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers determined the driver, 30-year-old Blair Foy of Fort Dodge, was allegedly involved in the transaction. A passenger, 31-year-old Joseph Foy of Fort Dodge, was allegedly found to have met the elements of the same crime.

Officers searched the vehicle and found money consistent with the amount of drugs sold, and Joseph Foy was found with an additional 1/4 pound of marijuana on his person.

Both men were arrested and charged with delivery of a controlled substance…marijuana…a class “D” felony; and failure to have drug tax stamps…Class “D” felonies.

In addition, Blair Foy was arrested on outstanding warrants for four counts of forgery and one count of theft in the second degree. Both Blair and Joseph Foy are on supervision with the Iowa Department of Corrections: Blair Foy for theft in the second degree and Joseph Foy for drug crimes.

Authorities say the investigation continues.

Members of the Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force involved in the investigation were the Estherville Police Department, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Department of Narcotics Enforcement.
