Emmetsburg – Two people were taken to the hospital after a scary two-vehicle wreck west of Emmetsburg over the weekend.

The accident occurred just after 11am Saturday, when Timothy Sheppard, Jr. of Chicago, Illinois, lost control of his 1994 Chevrolet heading westbound on 360th Street in Palo Alto County. The vehicle bounced off the north guardrail of a bridge, and veered into an on-coming 2004 Pontiac, driven by Tonia McGruder of Spencer.
