Emmet County Crash Seriously Injures Graettinger Man

November 22, 2014

(Estherville)– A single-vehicle crash Monday evening in Emmet county seriously injured a Graettinger man.

The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says 49-year-old Todd Friesner was driving a 1992 Chevrolet Lumina westbound on Burr Oak Lake Road just east of Highway 4 when he lost control. Authorities say the vehicle rolled several times, ejecting Friesner. The vehicle eventually came to rest in a ditch.

Friesner was transported to Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville and was later transferred to a Sioux Falls hospital.

The vehicle, owned by Carmen Reinerson of Fort Dodge, was totaled.

Also discovered during the investigation was a substance alleged to be marijuana. Authorities say Friesner faces drug charges and multiple traffic charges as a result of the incident.

The crash took place around 7:30 p.m. Monday.

The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Wallingford Fire Department and the Estherville Ambulance Service.
