(Emmetsburg)– Don’t look now but another scam is making the rounds.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says it’s received a report from a citizen that received a letter through the U.S. Postal Service claiming the recipient was the winner of $68,286. The documents are from the NCDM, or National Commission for Donations of Money and Prize Distribution. A check was included with the letter and a registration form that asks for a credit card number, expiration date and a signature of the card holder.

Authorities say although the documents appear to be formal, that they contain no contact information or telephone numbers. A return envelope that’s included with them has a Netherlands address on it.

Authorities say it’s nothing but a scam, and they remind everyone to never give your personal, bank account, credit card or financial information to anyone you don’t know.

If you have reason to believe you’ve been a victim of such a scam, you should contact your local law enforcement agency as soon as possible.
