(Storm Lake)– A missing juvenile and a man wanted by Minnesota authorities were located in Storm Lake Wednesday.

Storm Lake police say 25-year-old Alejandro Mendiola Mejia of Windom, Minnesota allegedly had sexual relations with the 15-year-old daughter of his girlfriend. When confronted he fled from Minnesota with the girl and was reportedly in the Storm Lake area.

Wednesday, police saw the suspect’s vehicle at the Budget Inn in Storm Lake and located Mejia and the girl in a motel room. Police seized from the room I-D cards, photos used to creat I-D cards, a bus ticket to Mexico and over one thousand dollars in cash. Police also determined Mejia was in the country illegally.

Mejia has been charged by St. James, Minnesota police with felony counts of kidnapping to facilitate a felony or flight and two counts of depriving another, custody parental rights, concealing a minor. He’s also been charged by Storm Lake police with three counts of third-degree sexual assault, a class “C” felony; and harboring a runaway, an aggravated misdemeanor. He’s being held in the Buena Vista county jail without bond, with a hold by immigration.
