(Sheldon)– A single-vehicle crash earlier this week on Highway 60 near Sheldon injured a Colorado man.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Jason Berges of Ovid, Colorado was northbound when he became sleepy and awoke with his car just inches from the left guardrail. Authorities say Berges then swerved and braked hard and collided with the guardrail on the right side of the road. The vehicle then came to rest at that location.
Berges was taken by ambulance to the Sheldon hospital to be checked over for possible injuries.
$3,000 in damage was estimated to a 2010 Chevrolet he was driving.
The crash took place shortly after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
