USFWS To Hold Open Houses, Including One In Lakes Area

(Spirit Lake)– The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will hold a series of open houses next month, including one in Spirit Lake.

The Iowa Wetland Management District was established in 1979 as part of the Union Slough National Wildlife Refuge to help enhance and protect waterfowl production and migratory bird conservation. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources shares management responsibilities on many of the district’s public lands.

Miller says input from the four open houses will be used to formulate a comprehensive conservation plan for the district…

The open house for our area is scheduled for Wednesday, February 15th from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Dickinson County Nature Center.

Open houses are also planned for Algona, Clear Lake and Jefferson.
