(Milford)– The Okoboji High School Jazz Band earned top honors at the Iowa High School Music Association’s State Jazz Band Festival it hosted this past Saturday.
11 jazz bands from area class 2A schools and one 4A school participated in the event. The Okoboji High School Jazz Band earned Division one ratings from all four judges.
Other bands earning Division 1 ratings included South O’Brien, Alta-Aurelia and Fort Dodge.
Sibley-Ocheyedan, Sioux Central, Garner-Hayfield, St. Edmond, Lake Mills, Manson-Northwest Webster and Pocahontas received Division Two ratings.
The Okoboji High School Jazz Band next travels to Sioux City to participate in the Northwest Iowa Bandmasters District Jazz Festival on Wednesday (Feb. 1st).
