(Milford)– Okoboji High School was 2nd place in Class 2A competition Saturday at the Morningside Jazz Festival in Sioux City. Alta-Aurelia was 1st and Cherokee 3rd.
For Okoboji, Oustanding Soloist/Musicianship Awards were presented to Kiley Wermersen on bass, Sydney Boeckholt on trombone, Brittany Kolbeck on vibes, Nicole Ballah on tenor sax, Tyler Ohl on trumpet, Melanie Clemen on bari sax and Joe Hilsabeck on drums.
The OMS and OHS Jazz Bands will perform at the Indianola Jazz Experience Saturday, February 18th, and the OHS Jazz Band and Jazz Choir will perform at the Lewis and Clark Jazz Festival Tuesday, February 21st. The OMS and OHS Jazz Bands will present their annual Evening of Jazz Concert at the Okoboji High School Auditorium Friday, March 2nd.
