O’Brien County Crash Injures One

November 22, 2014

(Sanborn)– A single-vehicle crash Monday in O’Brien county sent one person to the hospital.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 26-year-old Zachary Barron of Sheldon was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Impala southbound on county road L40 about 3 1/4 miles north of Archer when he lost control. The vehicle left the road and went into the west ditch where it rolled once before coming to rest on its top.

Barron was taken by the Sanborn ambulance to the Sheldon hospital. There was no immediate word on the nature of his injuries or condition.

Deputies say Barron was NOT wearing a seatbelt.

He was cited for operating while intoxicated…second offense; and failure to maintain control.

The crash took place shortly before 2:00 a.m.
